The ELA technology standards I feel most prepared for teach elementary, or Kindergarten through 6th grade ELA standards. While I know how to use different forms and multimedia works, in order to actually teach it to others I think I need more help on visual graphics. Kindergarten through 6th grade is pretty basic use of the internet, different medias, and different presentations. I am already up to date on the knowledge that these ELA standards include, so I feel comfortable teaching them. I think one of the tools in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit that I would like to use are the standards themselves. This way, I would know what criteria that I have to teach. To me, this is helpful to refer to the minimum skills that are needed to be taught in order to keep my students up to date. These standards would help me to formulate my lesson plan, even if not getting every detail. This would give me some guideline on what to teach, and form there I could go whatever way I wanted to, and what...

Blog Journal #2

As a student I have used Microsoft Word in so many ways, and seen my teachers use it equally as much. I have used Microsoft Word as a way to type all my papers, do presentations, and compose flyers. Another way I have used Microsoft Word as a student is to take notes on Word, and then it makes it easier for more notes to be organized. My teachers use it to write handouts for their class, or design a handout to inform the class on an upcoming event. Although I originally felt like I did not have a ton of experience with copyright, after learning about what it really meant in EME 2040, I realized I had more than I thought. Copyr...

Teachers are influenced to use technology because it has so many opportunities to simply help with teaching. Technology can be used with online assignments in order to have automatic, effortless grading. Teachers can use various online programs for things like attendance or asking the class questions, for example with Kahoot. Students are influenced to use technology in the classroom for many things, such as staying organized or communicating with teacher. It makes it easy to just shoot a teacher an email outside of class, rather than have to wait until the next week before asking the question in person.  Students and teachers also have many chances for technology outside of the classroom, for example in their personal learning network, in order to engage with people of similar interest, and maybe learning the same type of material. Within different personal learning networks like Twi...
