As a student I have used Microsoft Word in so many ways, and seen my teachers use it equally as much. I have used Microsoft Word as a way to type all my papers, do presentations, and compose flyers. Another way I have used Microsoft Word as a student is to take notes on Word, and then it makes it easier for more notes to be organized. On top of being organized, taking notes on Microsoft Word allows me to quickly find details in my notes by searching the document by key words, instead of having to flipping through pages of notes. My teachers have used Microsoft Word to write assignments, and have the opportunity to write numbered lists or add different fonts to make the assignments unique. My teachers use it to write handouts for their class, or design a handout to inform the class on an upcoming event.
Although I originally felt like I did not have a ton of experience with copyright, after learning about what it really meant in EME 2040, I realized I had more than I thought. Copyright is the exclusive legal right of someone to print of publish. I personally as a student have used countless sources in slideshows or assignments for example, where I have no idea if I have the legal right to use them. As a teacher, I would develop my own instructional materials, and while I would allow students to access them, they would not be able to copy them or put them on the internet. This way, my instructions would stay personal to me, and only be there to help a student understand the concept but not to quote as their own online or elsewhere. On top of this, students could use my resources combined with other legal to use resources and create their own work with their abundance of information.
Academic Honesty I would ensure in my classroom by, like I said a previously, using the resources that scan assignments for you and notify you if the writing was copied from any website or book. This was I would know if anything was plagiarized, or the work was truly original. Cyberbullying should never be tolerated. In my classroom, I would try to solve it by having a 100% anonymity for anyone who would let me know of any cyberbullying happening. This way, whoever was the one taking part in the bullying would hopefully be stopped if students knew that no one would ever know who reported them. Finally, copyright would be solved in my classroom by only allowing public sources to be used. It would be enough to solely cite a source, but rather I would have to know if it was legal to use that source.
